In 2008 I joined the team as New Media Developer. I create information architectures and layouts, do front and back-end development and production on all their online assets and properties. I also do occasional video production in support of social media initiatives.

The Grange Prize

Each year, The Grange Prize recognizes the work of Canadian and international contemporary photographers, awarding $50,000 CAD to a winner chosen through an online public vote from among two Canadian and two international artists. Exhibitions are held at the Art Gallery of Ontario and an international institution.

I developed the online voting mechanism and multi-lingual website for the 2009 prize. An explanation of the technological solution can be found on my blog.

Donald Weber Photographer

Photojournalist Donald Weber is engaged in a penetrating investigation of Russia and the former Soviet republics.

The power of his pictures is recognized by a steady stream of prestigious awards, exhibitions and commissions by leading publications.

I took over web duties in 2005 and continue to collaborate with Don to find the optimal presentation of his growing body of work.

Pleasure Dome Film & Video

Pleasure Dome is a storied underground film and video exhibition collective in Toronto.

I took over web duties in 2006, implementing WordPress as well as providing documentation and training.

The site now contains over 20 years of programming archives.

Toronto International Film Festival

TIFF is one of the world’s major film festivals.

In 2007 I joined the team as Designer/Developer. I created information architectures and layouts, and did front-end development and production on their brands including the Festival and Bell Lightbox.

Part of my contribution was to propose and spearhead the creation of a custom content management / web publishing system that increased the efficiency of time-sensitive production processes.

NASA Texas Space Grant Consortium

The Texas Space Grant Consortium is a group of universities, industrial organizations, non-profit organizations, and government agencies that are joined to ensure that the benefits of space research and technology are available to all Texans.

In 2004/5 I completed the visual identity for the Consortium including logo, imagery and a full website redesign.

I also created support materials for their Design Challenge program including posters, T-shirts and embroidered “mission patches”.

Terminus 1525

Terminus 1525 is an online community for young artists to share and discuss their work.

Produced for the Canada Council for the Arts with support from Heritage Canada, the site houses over 25,000 works from more than 5,000 members.

As designer for zinc Roe Design in 2003, I created the logo, initial web concepts and templates, plus various visual support materials.

Youthography

January 1st, 2009

Youthography is a full-service research and marketing communications agency dedicated exclusively to youth.

I was a member of the team at the beginning, Art Directing the visual vernacular of the then-fledgling company.

I participated in consultations with, and created multimedia for, clients including Nike, Bell, Rogers and Ford.
